The most beautiful island of Polynesia.


Bora Bora is a high island with a lagoon and islets on the reef around the island in French Polynesia. It is located in the archipelago of society and especially the leeward islands. It famous for its turquoise lagoon colors as well as its many islets called "motu". It is located 250 km north west of Tahiti. It can be reached by aircraft ATR 42 or 72 with the local airline Air Tahiti, the flight duration is about 1 hour.


The airport is on a islet, you reach the main island city Vaitape by lagoon fast shuttle, hotels located in other islets come retrieve their customers with boats. There is 4500 inhabitant on the island, they are very welcoming. Population has good living quality as the hotels offer a lot of job on the island.

It is part of French Polynesia, language is French and most of the people know english. The island has only one pass to enter or exit the lagoon. During World War II, Americans set up a military base, the cannons are still visible and points to the ocean. It is the most visited island of Polynesia after Tahiti. The famous explorer Paul-Emile Victor spent his retirement until his death in 1995. Many hotels are located there and many offer the famous overwater bungalow, specialty of the island. The island is gorgeous, the word paradise there take all it's sense.
